Kanes' ambitious investment programme includes the construction of a new salad factory at their Middle Littleton site which will be completed by Spring 2011.
The 100,000 ft2 building will incorporate all the latest technology to ensure we produce the best quality products with consistent shelf life.
Optical sorting machines will automatically select the best leaves to enter the washing process where the enclosed tubular washing system will give a thorough but controlled wash. The air drying tunnels gently remove moisture without causing damage before the leaves are sealed in a bag.
The ambition in building this facility is to set a new industry standard for salad production.
